The Storage and Data Management group is responsible for delivering services to support core storage needs of the CERN physics community and the Laboratory. The group ensures designs, develops and operates services for data recording, archival and storage for the CERN experiments and users; as well as .the The group also supports and evolution and operation of data management and software distribution services for the Worldwide LHC Computing Grid. TFinally the group also provides providesings filesystems, backup capabilities, object and block storage for cloud & computing platforms and infrastructure services in the CERNthe data centres.

The section is responsible for the design, evolution and operation of storage services for physics data for the Experiments, including the Tier-0 data processing and workflows.
Main responsibility: EOS development and operation of all Physics instances.
Tape and Backups (IT-SD-TAB)

The section is responsible for the design, evolution and operation of the archival storage service for physics data for the Experiments and the Backup and Restore service, including management of tape storage infrastructure in CERN data centers.
Main responsibility: CERN Tape Archive (CTA), IBM Spectrum Protect, tape infrastructure management.
